The Problem With "gay" Legislation

Recently there has been a lot of government activity related to homosexuality. With the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell”, the multiple movements towards homosexual marriage, and the many pending court cases promoting homosexual “rights”, it sometimes feels like the nation has jumped over a cliff of immorality…

Do not be discouraged my friends. As I have already said in many past posts, you should not be surprised by the sins of sinful people. That is just part of their nature. Do not give in to the evil reports of the enemy. Trust God. The homosexual movement does not have as much footing as you might think…

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

You should recognize these words as part of the “Bill of Rights” of the United States Constitution. Our nation’s founders considered this particular “Right” so important that they put it at the very top of the list, and that is most significant in regards to what I keep hearing concerning “gay” legislation.

There are several things happening at the moment that you should take note of:
  1. With the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell”, military Chaplains are being told that they can no longer refer to homosexuality as sin.
  2. With the establishment of “homosexual marriage” in various States, Churches are being told they must accept these marriages.
  3. Other “homosexual” legislation in many States is attempting to classify opposition to homosexuality as “hate speech”.
  4. High Court cases are gradually eating away at laws that prevent “homosexual marriage”.

When you look at this list your first instinct is to see how bad things are getting, but you should not look at it that way. What you should instead realize, is that homosexuality is defined and long established in most religions as immoral. Everything on this list is a clear violation of the first amendment to the constitution, and that is a problem that the homosexual movement is not going to be able to get around.

I’m sure you have heard of the term “gay pride”…

Proverbs 16:18 - Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. (NIV)

Galations 6:7 - Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. (NIV)

Proverbs 22:8 - Whoever sows injustice reaps calamity, and the rod they wield in fury will be broken. (NIV)

MARK MY WORDS! The homosexual establishment is not so well imbedded as they think. I am already seeing signs that they are starting to crumble. Very soon they will collapse like a house of cards.

Take courage my friends. Declare it in the Heavens and you WILL see it come to pass on earth (Matthew 16:19).

James :)
