Revolution

Do you sense the anticipation yet?

It’s like the quiet before the storm… It’s like the darkness just before sunrise… Its like the silence of 400 years before it was Zechariah’s turn to burn incense on the alter (Luke 1:8-10)… Its like we have been in the wilderness for 40 years, and just came up to the river Jordan (Numbers 33:48)…

Perhaps it isn’t an easy thing to sense, because when we look around us it is too easy to see ruin, destruction, and oppression… My friends, do not despair! Do not cast your heads down! Do not surrender to what your eyes see or your ears hear, because they are only giants in the land. With God on our side, we can take them out!

40 years ago God moved over this land in a great revival, and there are many over the last 30 years who have predicted it will happen again. 15 years ago there was something, and we thought it was happening then, but that was only the precursor, because what God is about to do isn’t a revival, it is a REVOLUTION.

What is the difference between revival and revolution?

A revival is a wake up call. It is a bucket of water in your face, or a heart jolt from a defibrillator. From a spiritual point of view it is a reminder of who we are and who God is. It is marked by the conviction of the overwhelming presence of God, and a call to repentance. It has the power to immediately turn the sinner around in the terror of his own mortality. It has the ability to stop a nation in its tracks, and turn them from the edge of the cliff.

A revolution is a call to war! It is the claiming and proclaiming of God given rights, and the demand that those rights be recognized. It is the shift into maturity, where one can no longer accept being treated as a child. It is stepping up to the responsibility of claiming one’s inheritance, and taking possession (1Corinthians 13:11). From a spiritual point of view it is the fulfillment of the very purpose that God created us for. It has the power to break curses and hurl strongholds of evil into the abyss. It has the ability to overthrow kings, and turn the world upside-down.

And if we are standing on the bank of the Jordan, and the brink of revolution, we all know what we must do…

Joshua 3:5 - Joshua told the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you." (NIV)

James :)
