Government Leaders
I was listening to a radio show the other day, and the guest speaker was someone who has published a couple of prophesies about the present situation in America.
During the interview the prophet made some comments about the way the government seems to be heading and the moral implications, specifically mentioning president Barack Obama by name. Shortly afterwards they took some phone calls, and one of the callers suggested that prophet was being racist against our newly elected African-American president. About that time I arrived home so I shut the radio off and didn’t hear much of the prophet’s response to the accusation, but I got to thinking about it afterwards…
There seams to be an unnatural and wrong focus on president Barack Obama. On one hand you have people like this caller, who seem to believe Obama can do no wrong, so that from their point of view any disagreement or conflict with him must come from an irrational mindset like bigotry and racism. Then on the other hand you have people who seem to blame Obama for everything that is going wrong with the economy, as well as the rapid expansion of today’s evil liberal political agendas.
When we look at what is happening in America we need to recognize that we have a much bigger problem, and we need to understand that that problem would not be fixed by going back in time six months and switching out the government leaders we elected. If I might make a bold but frightening statement, “As the CHURCH in America goes, SO goes our GOVERNMENT!”. We are where we are today because the CHURCH has brought it to pass. evil didn’t just gain a foothold of power by accident, we LET it in, in fact we ESCORTED it in and GAVE it the VIP TREATMENT!
So now we hope and pray that God will intervene with a miracle and fix everything, but He isn’t going to do that. Why should He? We are all in this mess because of our own actions! We let the enemy in, and now it is up to US to drive him out!
Barack Obama is president because God put him there! Liberal men and women have control of congress and the senate because God put them there! Now we are subject to their rule because God put us here! Don’t forget that!
Get up off your knees Church! Stop begging for God to remove bad leaders! Stop complaining about how bad things are! START ACTING LIKE THE CHURCH! STAND UP AND PUSH FORWARD!
We are commanded to pray for our leaders (1Timothy 2:1-2). If we see those in authority are making a mess of our nation, it is because we are not fulfilling OUR DUTY to hold them up in prayer. If God could harden the heart of Pharaoh, don’t you think He is capable of steering our president and government in a completely different direction than they are heading now?
Our battle is not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12). Man is not our enemy. Barack Obama is not our enemy! Congress and the Senate are not our enemy! When the Church prays as we are supposed to, we take over the enemy’s base of operations. When the Church acts like we are supposed to, the very gates of hell bend backwards to our advance (Matthew 16:18).
The reason our nation is in confusion and turmoil is because TOO MANY OF US are praying AGAINST our government leaders, and TOO FEW OF US are praying FOR our government leaders.
