The Next President of the United States
As I have watched the political climate in the United States over the last several months, I cannot help but grieve over the state of the Christian Church in our country. I cannot help but ask myself some questions:
How do I know that God’s choice for president is Donald Trump? I’m not even going to explain my reasoning. If the Christian community is not able to discern what the Holy Spirit has been screaming at us over the last several months since his nomination, then you must not really be Christian. I cannot show you a clearer example of being able to hear the Holy Spirit than this.
What about the uncomfortable flaws in Donald Trump’s character that are also obvious? Do you think when Jesus chose His disciples he was looking for perfection? Why do you think he chose a zealot (Matthew 10:4), a tax collector (Matthew 10:3), and a bunch of fishermen (Matthew 4:18-22) who by today’s standard would be considered the low life of society? Donald Trump is exactly the kind of person Jesus would walk up to with the invitation “Follow Me” (Matthew 4:19), and take as His friend and disciple.
What about the “locker room talk” that was caught on tape? As I recall, Donald Trump publicly admitted to this sin he committed 10 years ago, he publicly acknowledged how wrong his actions were, and he publicly apologized to both his family and the American people. In the Christian community we call that “Repentance”. Donald Trump is a human being, and “…all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” (Romans 3:23). The problem with the Christian community is that we keep insisting on “perfection” for the people we are willing to vote for, and through our own self-righteous arrogance we usher the devil himself into political dominance. I have touched upon this before in a past post.
What about the recent accusations of sexual assaults? Here is where the Christian Church is so blind that many are not discerning the evil spirits at work:
The saddest thing about these allegations is that so many Christians are willing to turn this election over to Hillary Clinton because of them. Don’t they see who Hillary Clinton is, and what she represents? Even if these accusations against Trump are true, which I don’t believe, he is still clearly the better choice of the two.
And just to make my position clear, Christians abstaining from voting or voting for a 3rd party candidate over this, is no different than casting their vote for Clinton. The choice is as black and white as good vs evil. Either you vote for God’s man for this hour, or you are opposing God.
I think the Christian community opposing Trump is going to be hit with a major shock come Election Day. In an earlier post I made a prophetical connection between Donald Trump and Nebuchadnezzar. I have heard others connecting Donald Trump to Cyrus from Isaiah 45, tying the 45th presidency of the US with this Biblical chapter. Is Donald Trump Nebuchadnezzar or Cyrus? I think he is a little bit of both. But I like the Nebuchadnezzar association because of what the Bible shows here: Daniel 4:34-36.
Is Donald Trump going to be our next president? I think he will be in spite of what the Christian Church is doing. The fact that so many are fighting to oppose this is very telling. There is a major spiritual war being waged to prevent it (Ephesians 6:12), but God doesn’t lose wars unless His people hold back from doing what He wants them to do (2 Kings 13:18-19).
My friends… If you as a Christian are supporting Donald Trump, you need to pray for him because the battle is not over. But if you as a Christian are opposed to Donald Trump, you need to get over your self-righteousness and choose the side that God is on, instead of giving power to the devil.

- How did the Christian Church become so blind that we are unable to discern the evil spirits that are so obvious and blatantly working in our political arena?
- When has there ever in the history of our country been a presidential candidate so adamantly opposed by so many different groups including the Christian Church, as Donald Trump?
- Why have so many Christian leaders in our country taken a stand to refuse to vote for the man who is unquestionably God’s choice for president, and by doing so have sided with the woman who is unquestionably the most evil presidential candidate we have ever witnessed?

What about the recent accusations of sexual assaults? Here is where the Christian Church is so blind that many are not discerning the evil spirits at work:
- These accusations are being reported by the same media who has sided with Clinton and has been fighting Trump from the beginning. In fact the news organization who started these most recent smears are the same group who were caught and discredited for similar false stories several months ago.
- These accusations were kept quiet for decades and then suddenly brought to light at a critical time obviously engineered to influence the election in favor of Clinton, and to distract from new damaging news about her.
- Trump emphatically denies these accusations as being entirely false, and unlike Bill Clinton, Trump does not have a history of this kind of behavior.
- The accusations themselves completely lack credibility: One event allegedly occurred in public on an airplane 30 years ago with a complete stranger, yet she failed to report it to airline authorities at the time. A second event involved a woman who felt what she thought was a bag brushing against her, but when she turned around and saw that Trump was among several people behind her, she decided to blame him even though she never saw him do anything.
The saddest thing about these allegations is that so many Christians are willing to turn this election over to Hillary Clinton because of them. Don’t they see who Hillary Clinton is, and what she represents? Even if these accusations against Trump are true, which I don’t believe, he is still clearly the better choice of the two.
