What’s So Great About Christmas Anyway?
Dateline 4 BC
The Roman Empire is the dominating political power. The nation Israel is under the rule of external government. The throne that rightfully belongs to the house of David is occupied by an evil bloodthirsty foreigner who seeks only power for himself. The world is in turmoil. 4000 years of evil have corrupted mankind far from the beautiful beings God created us to be. Even the prophets of the Most High God who warn the nation about her sins have been silent for 400 years.
From His throne in heaven, God looks down on the earth and determines that the time is perfect, to fulfill the plan He started 4000 years before on the day that evil first touched the heart of man.
The talons of evil were buried so deep in the world that one would think they could never be removed. But when God molded man out of the clay of Eden, He left His fingerprints on us, and formed us with His likeness and image.
The hands of God are stronger than evil, and when He chose to make our flesh His flesh, and our bones His bones, that was something the forces of evil could not comprehend, or withstand.
The Christian's of old called this New Creation, God Incarnate, and that was not just a figure of speech. God created for Himself, a human body, inside the womb of a virgin, and inside that body He put His very own Soul. And from that moment, the world would never be the same.
This New Creation was 100 percent human, genetically tied through His mother's DNA all the way back to Adam. And this New Creation was 100 percent God, possessing the very heart and soul of God in heaven. He thought like God, He talked like God, He acted like God, He was sinless like God, and He possessed, demonstrated, and flawlessly used the very power of God. That is why they called Him Immanuel. Immanuel means "God with us".
From the moment of Immanuel's conception, the powers of evil converged together with a single purpose, to kill Him, and after about 37 years, they finally accomplished it…
Only let me ask you this. When God Almighty puts His very Soul into a human body, and then evil forces break that body open, releasing that Soul from its earthly confinement, what do you get? You get an unstoppable God exploded outward over the entire earth!

The fuse is lit. The body of Immanuel, still living, is hung up on a cross to die.
Some may think the moment of triumph was Sunday morning, when the stone was rolled away and the life of God was put back into body Immanuel, but you would be wrong. The very moment life was taken away from God's most perfect creation, was the moment of evil's doom. When you turn on a light in a dark room, darkness is instantly expelled, and God moves faster than light.
Some may think the war was bloody as two thirds of the heavenly hosts did battle with the fallen third, but you would again be wrong. He isn't called the Captain of the Hosts for nothing. God invaded the fortress of hell by Himself, but as He advanced, everything He touched crumbled. And when God came to the prince of darkness, He went smack! And evil's head was crushed. And God tore all of evil's power out of its hands. That is why they call Him Jesus. Jesus means "God is Salvation".

Despite appearance and popular opinion, evil has never recovered from the blow it brought upon itself 2000 years ago. God has come to earth, and although He returned back to the heavens, He did not leave us alone. We are commanded to drive the remains of evil off of the face of the earth, not by the sword, but by the word of our testimony, and by the giving of our very lives for the cause of God, which is no less than what He did Himself.
So here is my testimony. I am saved by the blood of Jesus Christ. I am empowered by His Holy Spirit. No evil force on this earth can stand against that.
