Jerusalem – City of Peace
An ancient enemy has once again reared its ugly head. Departing US President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry have chosen in the last days of their reign, to conspire with the United Nations to make war against the “City of Peace”. This is a very dangerous and ill-conceived move on their part, because Jerusalem is not like other cities, and Israel is not like other nations, and to turn against her is to walk into a curse (Zechariah 11:12-15).
Fortunately for the United States, our new President Elect has separated himself from the foolishness of the departing regime, so our great nation should be able to escape the curse that will inevitably fall on the conspirators.
In my last post I stated that Donald Trump was God’s choice for the coming presidential election, and that whenever God’s hand is in the battle, no matter how bleak the situation looks, God does not lose. Donald Trump’s win was decisive and clear, and the differences between his incoming philosophy and the old ways are also quite clear. So relating to this latest move by our currently departing president, I would like to remind everyone that the prophesies regarding Trump’s electoral triumph described a parallel between the 45th US president and king Cyrus from Isaiah 45.
Barack Obama, John Kerry and the United Nations have now set themselves against an Ezra 6 moment. If Trump is Cyrus then you need to read and understand the decree of Cyrus from this scripture, and recognize that God’s hand is still moving, and not just for His people in the United States, but also for the nation Israel.
Jerusalem has a special place in God’s heart, evidenced by what he told King Solomon when the temple was dedicated:
The nation of Israel may still be recovering from the wounds of her exile, but God has not abandoned her. Jerusalem’s roots go back even before Abraham. The same mountain that was king David’s “Zion” (2 Samuel 5:7, 1 Chronicles 11:5, Psalm 2:6, Psalm 48), was first called “Salem” under the reign of the great king Melchizedek whom Abraham honored with his tithe (Genesis 14:18-20, Hebrews 7:1-4), and it is prophesied that at the end of time “Jerusalem” will become the reigning seat of our Lord Jesus Himself (Isaiah 2:1-5, Zechariah 14:1-11).
I could not be more obvious that conspiring against Israel is a very dangerous move, that will have profound consequences for everyone involved. Jerusalem does not belong to the modern day Philistines (Palestinians) who are trying to claim it. Jerusalem belongs to God.
If the Palestinians want to live in peace, they need make peace with Israel’s rightful inhabitants, and leave God’s Holy City, the “City of Peace” alone.

1 Kings 9:3 - The Lord said to him: “I have heard the prayer and plea you have made before Me; I have consecrated this temple, which you have built, by putting My Name there forever. My eyes and My heart will always be there.” (NIV)

Isaiah 14:31-32 - Wail, you gate! Howl, you city! Melt away, all you Philistines! A cloud of smoke comes from the north, and there is not a straggler in its ranks. What answer shall be given to the envoys of that nation? “The Lord has established Zion, and in her His afflicted people will find refuge.” (NIV)
