A Father's Day Revelation
I received a revelation during this morning's worship service that is very fitting for Father's day.
My relationship with the Lord over the years has had its ups and downs. Sometimes it feels like He is very close, while at other times He seems so distant that I wonder where He is. This has always been troubling to me, because I am convinced beyond doubt that God is real, and that He loves us, and that He is always faithful, but that is always confronted with questions of why He doesn't seem to be answering something.
This morning God gave me the answer, and it is kind of wild. Our relationship with God is like a young child who is just learning to walk. There are times when we need our Heavenly Father to hold our hands, and put His arms around us, and even rest in the comfort of His love. But there are also times when He needs to let go, and when we reach out for Him He even needs to back away and make us chase Him. He is always there to pick us up when we stumble, but He knows that in order to build our strength and balance we have to walk on our own.
After I shared this word in the service this morning, one of the Pastors added about how our Heavenly Father is a Perfect Father knowing exactly which technique we need at what time to strengthen our walk with Him.
If you are in a place where you feel like God has pulled away from you and grown distant, the solution is obvious and simple. You need to chase after Him.
Happy Father's Day
James :)
