The Problem with Evolution
I was watching a TV documentary this morning about the amazing human body. The show demonstrated several real examples of how the human body is able to supercede normal parameters during extreme situations, and I was also reminded of other extreme situations not demonstrated.
Inherently built in to the very nature of the human body, is our ability to fight through the excruciating pain of torn ligaments and broken bones, to outsprint wildfire flashovers, to lift and move obstacles weighing tons, to swim incredible distances, and even survive without water more than twice as long as the normal three day limit. We are an incredible and amazing machine.
The evidence is overwhelming. We are indeed “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). However the documentary I was watching did not give credence to God for this, but to “evolution”, and this got me thinking about how stupid most scientists are in their understanding of their own theory.
Let me explain:
There are essentially two ideas behind “evolution”. First, traits which provide a distinct advantage within the environment will be naturally selected to dominate future generations, and second, environment and other factors can cause genetic mutations. Both of these ideas are scientifically valid. Mutations do naturally occur, and traits like thicker fur will naturally result in being better able to survive a harsh winter.
Natural selection in fact explains the differences between animal species in different parts of the world. There was probably only one type of bear taken aboard Noah’s ark (Genesis 6:19-20) which has since divided into pandas, brown bears, black bears, polar bears and grizzlies. This is really no different than what man has done with the brassica plant species turning it into hundreds of different variations of mustard greens, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and Brussel sprouts. Natural selection provides for unlimited variation in a species without any need for mutations or “evolution”.
On the other hand the mutations that naturally occur have never been observed to be beneficial to a species in any way. Mutations frequently result in sterility or grotesque deformity that is actually inhibiting to survival. However for the sake of argument, let’s assume that given enough “millions” of years, there could be occasional mutations that are survivable and possibly even beneficial.
The premise of natural selection and even more so of “evolution” is that a trait or mutation needs to be of such advantage that it allows creatures having that trait to survive where creatures that do not have the trait die off, for example better fur camouflage could prevent them from being seen by predators so others are eaten while they are not, or better water storage in their cells could enable them to survive a drought that others don’t. If the trait or mutation does not give them an advantage necessary for survival, you instead end up with some future generations having the trait while others don’t, for example different colored eyes, or varied skin patterns within the same species.
Herein is the problem demonstrated by the documentary I saw, and the utter foolishness of their “evolutionary” claims. These amazing abilities of the human body demonstrated by the documentary are a trait carried by every human being in the world. That means that under “evolution” those traits were critical to our survival at some point in the “evolutionary” chain causing our ancestors that did not have them to die off, otherwise there would be some humans today who don’t have them. But the thing is these amazing abilities are only used during one in a million extreme situations, in fact each different ability has its own separate one in a million usage, and we each have many abilities like these, yet most of us will live our entire lives without needing to draw on these abilities. How then is it possible for them to have been essential for our survival? How is it possible that all human beings have “evolved” them? Under “evolution” it is not possible.
“…The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God’…” (Psalm 14:1, Psalm 53:1). As I was watching this documentary on the amazing abilities God created within us, I was utterly overwhelmed by the evidence. Here they were showing example after example of unquestionable undeniable proof of God, that slapped in the very face of “evolution” that we did not become human beings by chance, we were made this way, and yet they still blindly gave credit to “evolution”.
My friends, do not let the “so called” scientific community mislead you. Real science is not on the side of “evolution”, it is on the side of God.
