The Rapture

I hope none of my readers were fooled by the false prophesy that claimed the Rapture (Matthew 24:40-41) would occur on May 21 2011.

It is sad how many ignorant Christians quit their jobs, sold their possessions, and even borrowed money to waste on the teachings of a proven false prophet.

Jesus warned us that these things would happen, yet all of the time Christians fall for lies. As Christ Himself said, "...the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light..." (Luke 16:8 NIV).

Do not be deceived...

Matthew 24:36-44

But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

(NIV)
I can't make it any more clear than that. Christ Himself said we will not know what day the rapture will occur, so if some prophet declares that it is going to be "this day" or "that day", we know that they are a false prophet.

Matthew 24:23-27

At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time.

So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

(NIV)
Please don't fall for the false prophet.

A Little Something For Mothers

Exodus 20:12 - "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you." (NIV)

I have posted a couple of times about my father, but this is the first time I have posted about my mother…

My mother is an honorable and Godly woman whom I love dearly.

My mother does not drive a car, so since the passing of my father in 2008, it has been my responsibility to drive her to church, help her with her weekly grocery shopping and errands, and take care of any problems that come up around the house. This is not always the most convenient because my mother lives 30 minutes away from my home, and 1 hour away from where I work, but as Paul taught, love is not self seeking, love always protects, and love always perseveres (1Corinthians 13). I would do anything for my mother.

My mother loves to pray, she loves to sing worship songs, and she loves to talk about God. She has no reservations sharing about Jesus at the supermarket, or to the person on the street. My mother is wise in scriptural knowledge, and in discerning spiritual matters. I am very proud of my mother.

Proverbs 31:10-31 -

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.

Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.

She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.

She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.

She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.

She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants.

She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.

She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.

In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.

When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.

She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:

"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

(NIV)

May God bless all mothers on this Mother's Day.
