A Sober Message For The Church
Today is Memorial Day, which is supposed to be dedicated to honoring the men and women who served this country in times of war prepared to give the ultimate sacrifice of their own lives and blood to protect our freedom, which a great many of them did.
But the people of America have changed since the time this day was dedicated. Many of us have grown complacent. Memorial Day is no longer about honoring the dead and respecting the survivors, it is about sales, and getting a paid holiday from work, and shrugging our shoulders at the news that our soldiers are being sent into battle without socks, and without chalk powder to mark mines so they can be avoided, and sometimes even without bullets and vests.
The political party of power is budgeted with more money than they have ever had before, yet they lie to the people that the opposition trying to cut a small percent out of their surplus is taking away the bare essentials they can’t live without. They go to bed without a thought while our brave soldiers are under attack, and when they are confronted they have the audacity to claim that budget cuts are why these men died needlessly.
The United States no longer has any honor. We have become a conglomeration of selfish and greedy consumers represented by the “Occupy” movement. We elect leaders without character, and then we wonder why things continue to get worse. We send our babies to be taught in schools where the administration is too stupid to recognize the difference between a banana and a gun, then we wonder why our kids are growing up without respect or common sense. We slumber lazily in our beds while the freedoms preserved by the lives of our forefathers are burned to ashes and tossed away in the wind.
Darkness has come to America. It is glaringly apparent everywhere I look, in our government, in our streets, and in our churches. The sad part about it is that most of the people looking around just shake their heads and say things aren’t so bad. And because of that, I’m afraid that unless we do something about it, things are going to get a lot worse before they get better.
Let me warn you right now that America is not invulnerable. We have only just begun to see the consequences of our complacency. If we don’t wake up and do something, we are going to see our own children carried away to foreign lands and foreign gods.
The church needs to get off their posteriors and demonstrate the character we are supposed to carry. The present state of America is our own fault. We have allowed our children to be brainwashed by liberals in our schools. We have ignored the warning signs that were present before our current president was even born. We have ourselves voted for evil men and women elected to positions of power. We have traded the black and white of good and evil, for the multiple shades of gray of debate, tolerating men marrying men, couples sharing beds without a wedding contract, divorce for convenience, drugs made legal, and murdering the next generation. The fate of America is bound to our own wickedness.
I have said it many times. We should not be shocked by the behavior of the people outside of the church. They are just lost sheep who do not know any better. They follow their leaders blindly and willingly over a cliff because they cannot help themselves. Sinners sin, that is just a matter of fact. What we need to be shocked about is our own behavior.
We, the righteous of the land, have allowed ourselves to become no better than the lost around us. Instead of shining brightly on a hill as a beacon of hope and truth to the world, we are caked with the mud of our own selfishness. And until we, the church, choose to turn away from our own sin, our nation is doomed to fall into ruin, and we will become nothing more than stumps sticking up among ruined desolation.

Isaiah 6:9-13 -
He said, “Go tell this people: ‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’ Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”
Then I said, “For how long Lord?”
And he answered: “Until the cities lie ruined and without inhabitant, until the houses are left deserted and the fields ruined and ravaged, until the Lord has sent everyone far away and the land is utterly forsaken. And though a tenth remains in the land, it will again be laid waste. But as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut down, so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.” (NIV)

2 Chronicles 7:13-14 - “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (NIV)
