Foolishness

Lately I have been quite amazed at how so many people have closed their eyes to what is obvious and common sense for any rational man, and have made the choice of foolishness. I have to wonder if there ever was a time when the prophesy of Isaiah mentioned in Matthew 13:9-17, John 12:37-41 and Acts 28:23-28 could be more fitting than this present day.

Isaiah 6:8-13
8Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? ”

And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

9He said, “Go and tell this people: ‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’ 10Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”

11Then I said, “For how long, Lord?”

And he answered: “Until the cities lie ruined and without inhabitant, until the houses are left deserted and the fields ruined and ravaged, 12until the Lord has sent everyone far away and the land is utterly forsaken. 13And though a tenth remains in the land, it will again be laid waste. But as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut down, so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.” (NIV)

Over the last several years here in America we have seen cities go desolate from hurricanes and an economy that has bankrupted automotive manufacturing centers. We have seen fields ruined from fires, drought, and environmentalists who refuse to give people water for their farms. We have seen jobs moved overseas as even our taxes intended to bring improvements to this country are instead wasted on foreign alternative energy industries that go bankrupt, and those of us who are left are only a shadow of what this great nation used to be. Meanwhile the men and women who brought this catastrophe upon us continue to sell the same foolishness, and many people continue to believe them. Even some of the elect are sharing in this foolishness by trying to compare the twin towers attack with Isaiah 9:10, because they also are unable to perceive what God is doing.

Do not be like them my friends. Do not walk around with your hands over year ears, your eyes closed, and your hearts hardened by the foolishness of this world (1 Corinthians 3:19).

Matthew 11:16-19
16“To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:

17“‘We played the pipe for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’

18For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ 19The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.” (NIV)

Do not be afraid and do not despair. The present shaking of heaven and earth is not the time of judgement. Although many things may come to ruin by that shaking, the righteous are protected, because what we have is anchored to a sure foundation.

Isaiah 28:16
So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.” (NIV)

Isaiah 33:5-6
5The Lord is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with his justice and righteousness. 6He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure. (NIV)

The path to our salvation is already laid out. It has been tried and tested, and has never failed.

Luke 1:17
“And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” (NIV)

The healing of foolishness is achieved by the spirit and power of Elijah.

Prepare the way for the coming of the Lord! Repent! Put away your foolish sins and make your hearts right! Do not linger behind in shock as the Church of Jesus Christ completes its final metamorphosis into the Glorious Bride of Christ! The Power of God that will transform this world into His Kingdom, is not a fairy tale, it is REAL!

John 14:12-14
12“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (NIV)

These are the days that the ancients longed to see (Matthew 13:17). Do not fear them!
