War and Peace
I was out getting gas the other day when I happened upon a bunch of protestors against the Iraq war. I found the situation a little humorous because most of these people probably voted for our current president for his position regarding the war, yet here he has been in office now for a number of months yet the protestors still aren’t satisfied.
I got to thinking about war protests in general. I have always found the anti-war position absurd. When you are confronted by a bully, you aren’t going to get him to leave you alone just by refusing to fight him. There are only two ways to deal with a bully, either surrender to him and give him everything he wants, or defeat him. There is no middle ground where you can have peace with him without doing one or the other.
I have to wonder how many of these protestors also claim to be Christian, since their anti-war position is so un-Christian… But then perhaps they are just ignorant about what the Bible says about war and peace (Ecclesiastes 3:8).
We must never forget that without Christ there can be no peace, and that the “Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6) is also “Captain of the Hosts of the LORD’s Army” (Joshua 5:14).
The truth of the matter is we are at war. There is no way around it.
So we must ask ourselves a critical question: Is it possible for anyone who is against war in the natural, to fight war in the spiritual? If you think the answer is “yes,” beware… King David fell into the sins of adultery (2 Samuel 11:4) and murder (2 Samuel 11:14,17) because he didn’t go to war when he was supposed to (2 Samuel 11:1).

- It is stupid to expect an irrational enemy (terrorists) to behave rationally (like people who just want to be left alone). We are the sworn enemy of terrorists not because we did anything to justify their hate, but because we simply exist. The evidence is overwhelming. If you think that terrorists want to be at peace with us, you are living in a dream world and need serious psychological help. It is the religious philosophy of all radical extreme muslims, that anyone who does not adopt their religious views must be put to death, and that is exactly what they are doing. We cannot stop that by protesting, we can only stop it by overpowering and restraining them.
- The war with Iraq is a JUST war. The US didn’t invade them without cause. Their government was a brutal regime that abused its people in horrific ways that you do not want to hear about, and in spite of the lies spread by the news media and liberals, we actually DID find weapons of mass destruction. We did NOT invade to take over and occupy indefinitely. We did NOT invade to steal their oil reserves and natural resources. We invaded in order to FREE THE PEOPLE and return the governmental power back to them, and that is exactly what we are doing. How is it considered a good thing for anyone to protest against this?

Matthew 10:34 - "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." (NIV)
Luke 12:49-51 - "I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is completed! Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division." (NIV)
John 16:33 - "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (NIV)

Revelation 19:11-16 - I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter."He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. (NIV)

Ephesians 6:12 - For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (NIV)

1 Timothy 1:18 - Timothy, my son, I give you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by following them you may fight the good fight... (NIV)
1 Timothy 6:12 - Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (NIV)
2 Timothy 4:7 - I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. (NIV)
