Where Do We Go From Here?
Do you feel like evil has triumphed? Do you think that everything is lost, that we have finally reached the end and our doom?
Let me remind you of this: Our hope… our strength… our welfare… our future does not rest in this world nor the powers that rule it. We have the irrefutable promise of God to take care of all our needs. We need to continue to place our trust in Him. Also remember that sometimes people must hit rock bottom before their hearts can be turned back to God, and if that is the case with people, how much more so with a nation?
If you think the idea of Barack Obama as president is devastating, just look at the history of the nation of Israel, how they suffered occupation and exile repeatedly, and how they had many leaders who did evil in the sight of the Lord. God always brought them through didn’t He? And now we are living under a new covenant of forgiveness, not judgement.
This election did not take God by surprise, it is all part of His plan. The cause of God remains strong and compelling, a force to be reckoned with. The Church of God rests on a sure foundation that will not be shaken by this or any other of the devil’s schemes.
Take heart and compose yourself. This is not the time to mourn or despair. This is the time to make ready. God knows what He is doing. When the people of the United States begin to realize the ruin they have voted upon themselves, they will have nowhere left to turn but to God.
The time of harvest is sooner than you think, and it will be greater than anything the earth has ever seen before. Make ready while there is still time. What God is about to do will be beyond our ability to contain. As was instructed by the prophet Isaiah:
And whatever you do, do not neglect to pray for president elect Obama. He was put in office through the schemes of evil men, so he has no idea what he has gotten himself into, and when he comes face to face with the responsibility of being president, he will crumble under the pressure unless our prayers protect him.
