The Power of Words
Sometimes I think that people aren't aware that there is power in the spoken word. By our words we can build up, and by our words we can tear down.
Today there are evil words circling the globe:
These words have worked their way into our government, into people of power and influence, and even into our daily lives. I am talking about witchcraft! islamic terrorists have been chanting their witches spells before the media of the world, and their spells have now grown so powerful that a large number of U.S. citizens, as well as the majority of the U.S. Congress has stopped thinking for themselves, and have become enchanted by the witchcraft.
Just take a look at what has happened over the last few weeks, and tell me this is not so. When our government disregards the recommendation of its trained experts, how can this not be from the influence of evil forces? If you don’t believe there is such a thing as real witchcraft you must have your eyes closed.
The Bible warns that the tongue discharges poison:
Evil men expel evil, twisted, manipulative words that call forth the will of demons, and when we allow those words to influence us, we give ourselves over to the control of those same demons.
As Christians, we must put our tongues to better use:
Is there power in words? The entire universe was created by the spoken word of God. Terrorists may speak with the witchcraft of demons, but our tongues can speak forth the power of the Holy Spirit:
But only if we choose to use them:
My dear Christians, use your tongues as God intended, to tear down the strongholds of the devil.

Today there are evil words circling the globe:
“President Bush was lying when he asked congress for permission to invade Iraq…”
“Invading Iraq has just made terrorism worse…”
“We are less secure now than we were prior to 9-11…”
“We should ignore the advice of the generals who are actually in Iraq seeing what is going on, and instead pull our troops home and give Iraq over to the terrorists…”
“We should elect leaders who will cater to the terrorists and give them what they want so they will leave us alone…”

The Bible warns that the tongue discharges poison:
James 3:5-8 -- Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. (NIV)
Evil men expel evil, twisted, manipulative words that call forth the will of demons, and when we allow those words to influence us, we give ourselves over to the control of those same demons.
As Christians, we must put our tongues to better use:
Matthew 12:36-37 -- “But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” (NIV)
Is there power in words? The entire universe was created by the spoken word of God. Terrorists may speak with the witchcraft of demons, but our tongues can speak forth the power of the Holy Spirit:
Luke 12:11-12 -- “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.” (NIV)
Acts 1:8 -- “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (NIV)
But only if we choose to use them:
1Peter 4:10-11 -- Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. (NIV)
My dear Christians, use your tongues as God intended, to tear down the strongholds of the devil.
